Among the issues highlighted by the residents' association was UDA Holdings' intention of evicting them without taking into consideration their livelihood and the historical importance of their village. The residents association are asking for a small part of the village to be preserved.

We said that they should seek solidarity from others going through the same problems around the country regardless of race and that their struggle should be based on the human right to shelter as stated by Article 25(1) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
"Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care, and necessary social services".
We also mentioned that their right to housing will be won through communicating more with their own people, careful actions and not through falling victim to nationalist or racial groups who have deceived and manipulated communities like theirs over and over again.Sosialis Hijau
